“Tour of Love”: A Small Town Sapphic Romance That Will Steal Your Heart

A photographer, her fake girlfriend & a chance to make her cheating ex jealous.

I didn’t think it would be hard to be her fake girlfriend, until I realized I was falling in love with her.

Heather Owens:
I didn’t plan on moving back to Lovers, Maine until we had found a place to live. But when I found my girlfriend tongue deep in another woman, I realized I was going to need my own place. Luckily, my high school best friend offered me her parents guest house for the summer. Except now my life consists of dodging my ex girlfriend and settling in. I busy myself with my photography especially the infamous Lovers’ Lighthouse— the last place I expected someone to catch my eye.

Sage Brooks:
Grad school and work are all I have time for, until a pink haired beauty walks in and I’m convinced this is love at first sight. My desire to know her leads us to the top of the lighthouse, where she blurts that she’s done looking for love. I’m sure my chances are over—until she jokes about needing a fake date to her best friend’s wedding. One in which her cheating ex is also in. I’m all too eager to jump at the chance, even if the idea of it not being real kills me.

But as Heather and Sage get to know each other will the lines between fake and real begin to blur?

Get Tour of Love

🩷Tour of Love is part of the complete series of Lighthouse Lovers. This is definitely my first Sapphic romance and wow did Tour of Love blow it out of the water! Such a good book about love, and relationships in all their different forms. I also love the friendships in this book and the situations they overcome. This is also my first fake dating book and do they ever not fall for each other? Obviously I would fall for someone I was fake dating but that’s me 🤣 and these girls know how to have a good time 😏

Spoilers Ahead

📸We meet Heather who now finds herself back in her hometown of Lovers, Maine. Lucky for her, one of her best friends offered their parents’ guest house (one of many) for the summer or until she can find a place of her own. Living in a small town can be hard, even harder when you’re trying to dodge your cheating ex-girlfriend. Trying to settle back into things Heather decides to make a trip to the infamous Lovers’ Lighthouse. Who would have known there was more than history waiting for her there.

💪🏻Sage isn’t one to believe in love at first sight but when a pink haired beauty walks into her summer gig at the Lighthouse. Needing to know who this beautiful woman is, Sage offers her a private tour of the Lighthouse before it opens to catch the gorgeous sunrise.

I’m trying to watch the sunrise, but my eyes are glued to her. She looks so beautiful in her element

Somehow Sage jokes about wanting to find love and the pink haired beauty jokes about needing a fake date to her best friend’s wedding.

“Yeah, so if you know anyone who wants to pull up to a wedding with me. Shit I’d even settle for someone who’d just show up my ex at this point,” she laughs

It’s an invitation Sage can’t turn down.

Favorite Quotes

I’m one of those lactose intolerant people who should avoid dairy, but I play with the limit of how much I can have. I’m fine most of the time

I’m also someone who is lactose, I just push it lol. If I get sick afterwards oh well the food was probably worth it. Nothing wrong with cleaning out the pipes every now and then 😂

“I hate when people call it junk food.”

I really love the way Shannon went about Heather’s eating disorder and how she is recovering and how she tries not to let it interfere with her life or not let it control her anymore. I hate the fact she had to go through this, probably something in her past made her think she wasn’t good enough. I’ve been there and I’m sure you have to; watching what you eat, when you should eat or your life just revolves around food. Not wanting to eat too much or not eating enough. Constantly worrying about your body or how you look

Favorite Scenes

“It’s okay, I cyberstalked you too.” She winks and I let out a sigh of relief from being let off the hook.

“Oh,” I say. It’s all I can manage. What do you say when a beautiful girl admits to cyberstalking you?

“I was meeting you in the dark by a lighthouse; I just needed to make sure you weren’t a murder,” she teases.

“Shit, I didn’t even think about how that might come across. I’m shocked you agreed.”

“Eh, I figured, what’s the chance you’d actually kill me?” she laughs.

“I can imagine! Did you shave?”

“I-Excuse me?!” My voice gets caught in my throat.

“What? I mean you don’t have to, it’s 2024, but at least make it accessible. It’s been so long since you’re had sex; I didn’t know if it’s jungle-like down there.”

“Maeve!” I squeal, begging her to stop. My face is bright red in mortification

“Heather, are you asking me to kiss you? For practice?

Well, I just thought we should be prepared for anything. But if you don’t want to…”

“You’re joking right? Why wouldn’t I want to? You’re beautiful.”

“Can I kiss you right now? Or is this like a planned practice in the future?” she asks

“Now is cool, or whenever.” I add a shrug and hope I sound extra causal
