I absolutely love this series, the world building, the history, surprise guests and how fkced up the gods actually are. Power that’s all they want and who doesn’t?
Secrets were currency after all.
I never know where Melissa is going to take the story or what other twists and bombs she will drop. I’m never disappointed. I’m still processing everything. I can’t seem to get my head out of Daverm theories, what could happen next. Are more surprising guests making an appearance?

I can understand Tessa’s perspective about how no one cares for her, no one loves her even when they have shown her time and time again –in small ways- how much they care about her. But when you are in your own head it’s hard to get out of it, it’s so easy to see the bad in yourself, and wonder how anyone could care about me–her.
“I know,” he growled in frustration. “That’s what made it so godsdamn ridiculous. Because I shouldn’t have cared. I shouldn’t have cared about the stormy grey eyes in a photograph that stared up at me on the screen of a tablet. I shouldn’t have cared you wanted flip-flops. I shouldn’t have cared that you didn’t know how to defend yourself. I shouldn’t have cared because you were supposed to be his, but I did care because some part of me claimed you as mine from the moment I saw your photo”
I was happy for about a second before shit hit the fan, on all sides. Just ahhhhh I just want to throw my book. WHY?! Everything was going so well, then my heart got broken into a million tiny pieces and stomped on
The dynamic between Luka, Theon and Tessa has/had me on the seat of my chair the whole book, the anticipation of what was to come next had my heart racing. Let’s not even talk about Axel and his “new” life, with his wife and the shit that is about to go down in the Underground.
“I can’t keep all my promises kitten” he whispered against her skin. “I can’t come back for you, but I need you to keep yours. I need you to try to be happy, and I promise to keep you safe.”
Remember how I said shit it the fan, well if that wasn’t enough the Hunters have turn on Tessa, they are fulfilling her prophecy for her. More secrets or currency come out throwing a wrench in their plans. How are they going to stop everyone going after Tessa?
I cannot wait for the next book to come out, I will forever be thinking about this cliffhanger. I’m excited to see where this story takes us. Highly recommend
