After the death of my mother and her Bonded, I was relieved to find my own Bonds.
I was sure everything would be okay if I had them.
It wasn’t.
The fate of our people is in my hands and I know we’re better off if I’m alone.
After five years on the run, I’m caught and dragged back to face the men I ran away from.
I thought I was doing the right thing.
Now, I’m not so sure.
North, Nox, Gryphon, Atlas, and Gabe may never forgive me but one thing is for sure.
I won’t ever forgive myself.

*Broken Bonds is a full length reverse harem PNR novel with material that may be difficult for some readers. This book will end on a cliffhanger. It’s recommended for 18+ due to language and sexual situations.

Get Broken Bonds

I could not put this book down, as the tension and anticipation built with every chapter. The love-hate relationship that the main character, Oli, has with her bonds and the mystery surrounding the Resistance and their involvement with her, kept me hooked from the very beginning. The story follows Oli–Oleander , a nineteen-year-old girl with special gifts, who has been on the run for the past five years since her mother and her mother’s bonded were killed. She’s been running from the Resistance, a group known for kidnapping and murdering bonds and bonded.

Oli has finally been caught and is now attending Draven University, one of the most prestigious universities in the city. However, she is not attending for the same reasons as her fellow students. North Draven, a member of the Gifted Council and owner of Draven University, along with his brother Nox, a professor at the university, need to keep an eye on Oli and ensure she doesn’t run away again. The university is a way to keep her close and monitor their bonds every move.

As Oli navigates through the challenges of being a student and a bonded, she finds herself surrounded by other bonds and bonded. Gabe (one of her bonds), who is the same age and attends the same university. While having a familiar face around might seem like a good thing, it’s just another way for her bonded to keep track of her. With a tracker placed in her arm, Oli is always under surveillance, and having Gabe two steps behind her at all times is just another reminder of that. However, amidst all the chaos, Oli has found a true friend in Sage, someone she can count on and trust. Their friendship has been a bright spot in her life, and it continues to blossom in the last 50 pages of the book.

In addition to Gabe, another professor and bonded, Gryphon, adds to the complexity of Oli’s life. Gryphon is a reserved, stand-offish, and cold Tactical professor, but as the story unfolds, we learn that he has a soft side and a giant heart. He is a genuine and caring individual, but he keeps that part of himself hidden from the world.

Overall, the book was a captivating read, full of magic, mystery, and intrigue. While there was very little spice and romance, the relationships between the characters and the unveiling of the Resistance’s secrets made up for it. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy and adventure stories with strong female leads.
