To start, this is a passion project for me as an author and pet owner, with an annual goal to donate heavily to Julie’s Friends, our charity that helps low-income families care for their sick animals. Julie was our Oriental Shorthair, who beat cancer for 3 1/2 years, but that was a $30k endeavor. Writing has been good to me and we managed the expense, but for many families that would not be an option without help.
In 2024 we will be expanding into a well-rounded convention, not simply a signing, but now including agent/editor appointments, a diverse workshop program, resources for aspiring and expanding careers, and so much more. This is not just about romance, it’s about all genres. We have done much to grow on the thriller, general fiction, and fantasy side and will continue to do so.
As for our author list, the list of New York Times bestsellers across genres is incredible. I am honored that so many amazing authors have signed up to support our event, and most of all, Julie’s Friends. It will be an incredible feeling to share the stories of the animals we have helped with you each year.
